Some progress has been made recently.
More Granny Squares. I’m aiming for 49 of these 8 inch blocks. The fabric range is Figtree Fresh Cottons.
The Leaders & Enders project is becoming less of a Leaders and Enders and more of a let’s make blocks - I want it to be a quilt already.
RSC-2024-Extended for April is peach/apricot. I’m a little short on larger pieces in the scrap collection. My scrap collection is pretty small and most of my scraps are precut into 2.5 inch, 3 inch or 5 inch pieces. A crafty/quilty friend has a stash I can raid in return for coffee and cake.
We were hoping for some cooler weather but the days have been quite warm, hot even. Didn’t stop me from making this recipe for Baked Apple Cider Donuts on the weekend. Flavours of apple, cinnamon and butter - what’s not to love.
I love the Granny Squares I made a queen size one once with a lot of scraps and of course I still had a ton of scraps when I was done.
ReplyDeleteHooray for blocks! And a friend who will trade scraps for baked goods is awesome! (Of course, some of my quilty friends are so overwhelmed with their stash, they'd probably give ME the baked goods to take some of their fabrics...) And I absolutely understand how a leader-ender project can become a main project. I'm terrible at being patient with those myself.
ReplyDeleteProgress feels good, doesn't it? It looks good too, from what you show. I don't do very well with leaders and enders. Once a certain number of units are made a few at a time, I get impatient to see how it's all going to come together and laeder-ender patience goes out the window!
