weekend

I changed my mind about the quilt show. Didn't fancy tramping into the city after all. Stayed at home instead and worked on the charity quilt.

Now that I'm starting to join the bigger pieces it's getting a little tricky to manage the 1 inch and 1.5 in binding strips but it's looking good.

Also stitched a little more binding on the Petite Maison quilt. Never an unpleasant task as it's such a pretty quilt.

Homespun has a new look. No more glossy pages but a couple of interesting projects in this issue.

I've also been looking for projects to use some of the fabric in my stash. These two lovelies are on Moda Bake Shop.

What has inspired you lately?

  1. Sorry you changed your mind about the quilt show, but you accomplished a lot on your donation quilt. It's easy to see why you are enjoying working the binding on the other one! It is really beautiful! ---"Love"

  2. I do the same thing at times...change my mind simply because I do not wish to drive 'all the way there' or go out in cold or hot weather! ;-)
I have to say I have become a home body in the last few years and enjoy it most of the time as long as it is MY CHOICE! Hahaha! Lovely work on both quilts. I have not bought a Homespun Mag in a bit still enjoy looking through my old ones. I really like the Windmill as I see stars !;-)

  3. Sometimes, it might be better to stay home and actually do some quilting yourself. I'm always trying to get more quilting accomplished and it isn't always easy. I sure like the looks of your charity quilt. The black seems to set things off. Can't wait to see the whole quilt!

  4. Well worth staying home for Ann! I have 1 copy of the new Homespun...not sure about it though...I sort of feel 'dropped' and that they're looking for a new audience. The old one was more homely I think...and mostly, I loved their quotes!

Love the binding progress. That quilt looks is just beautiful.
I would have stayed home today to sew if that had been a choice. :)

  6. I can't blame you for not wanting to tackle the crowds!

I picked up a second hand knitting machine on the weekend, so guess what I was up to!

  7. I am assuming the Homespun Magazine is an Australian publication? Looks very interesting. Love staying home just to sew!

  8. I really enjoyed some of these photos. I think that it is great that you are working on a donation quilt. Everyone can certainly enjoy a nice warm quilt. It is too bad that you did not go to the quilt show, but sometimes it is better to enjoy your own projects anyway.
