intentions

I had such good intentions. Honestly...I did!

Who knew that unseen forces would conspire against me so that I wouldn't really sew much of anything on a gift of a long weekend.

Sigh.. the best-laid schemes o' mice an' men gang aft agley.

(from one of my favourite poems by Robert Burns)

All I could manage was a little more binding on this quilt.  Looks like I'm going to have to redeem myself next weekend.

  1. Sometimes it's nice to have a little time off. I'm promising myself that I will definitely buy batting this week and get my scrappy trip quilt into the machine.

  2. Don't worry, the quilts aren't going anywhere. Take the time and enjoy what's is going on!

  3. "The time has come, the Walrus said...." that maybe faffing about wasn't such a bad idea after all? ;)

That faithful little quilt will still be there next weekend. :)

  4. That's the way it goes. "Life" gets in the way again!

  5. Sometimes other things take over, and sometimes we need a bit of 'nothing'. I call it recharging the batteries.

  6. Sounds like you needed a little time for doing other things. Enjoy the process and everything with get done in it's own time. You have playing with fabric to look forward to this weekend!

  7. Don't worry; I haven't sewn a stitch since last Thursday! I've been busy lavishing in love since Sunday! BTW, that saying is one I use often, though I hadn't read the entire poem in a long time. Thanks for the link; I enjoyed it! ---"Love"

  8. I wouldn't worry too much about it! I have barely sewed the last few months! You'll get it done eventually. That's my new line anyway! Lol!!

  10. Yes, well I had good intentions this week as well and have nothing to show for it. At least you've made progress on a binding (a very pretty one too). The quilts aren't going anywhere so there's no rush!
