sewing

It was cold, wet and windy today - perfect conditions for sitting with a quilt on your lap so it may as well be one that needs its binding.

This quilt is well overdue for finishing. Fortunately I had just the right colour fabric in the stash to make the binding. Seriously, that never happens.

Also found time to sew a little more on the charity quilt. We have the Queen's Birthday long weekend coming up soon so I hope to make inroads on this project.

Happy Stitching!

  1. You are onto cold days as we are onto the hot ones! Great projects you have to stay warm while working on!

  2. Long weekends are great, but never long enough it seems! Especially when one is working. Being retired, I don't really notice the holidays as much. Life isn't really one big holiday when you are retired, though. There are always chores to do. I like the looks of your charity quilt!

  3. I love the colors in the quilt you are binding! Also the channel quilting on your charity quilt is perfect, and give me an idea to use! Stay warm, while we try to stay cool today. ---"Love"

  6. Funny that it's been cold and rainy here, too, though we SHOULD be getting into the hotter part of summer up here. Silly weather... BUt the quilts are beautiful and I am ever so happy to be a quilter with a quilt needing binding on cold rainy days!

  7. Such a neat roll of binding! puts me to shame as mine is usually a pile on the floor ;)
Yes I enjoyed the wet and woolly weather too - got some sewing prep done.

  8. a lucky find in your stash...the perfect binding. And the kind of weather that makes it easy to sit and bind.
Your charity quilt is looking good too.
