finishing

The new year has ticked over here in Australia and it kind of feels a lot like the old one.

Rather than resolutions, I prefer themes. Last year it was scraps. This year it's Finishing. As you can see I have quite a few quilt tops needing attention.

Whilst some progress has been made in setting up the sewing room, it still needs to be finished.

So this year, the blog is going to be a wee bit boring I'm afraid as I work my way through that pile on the second shelf. There is a baby quilt to make but it's a simple design so that it can be finished.

My wish is that the new year brings you relief from the trials and tribulations of 2020.  May your bobbins always be full.

  1. Just look at all those pretty quilt tops sitting there in that fabulous cupboard. Love the chair, too. =) Here's to a year of finishing and stitching of pretty quilts. Also, let us hope that the trials and tribulations of 2020 will become less in 2021. I think we have a way to go yet. Us stitchers will just keep on stitching on, shall we?? A lovely new year to year, Ann. Take care and please keep well.

  2. Oh, that stack is nothing! I can top that three times over, easily! (But, well, instead of bragging, maybe I should also embrace finishing?!) You are hours ahead of us, so it seems odd to see the date stamp on your post is tomorrow, but it is creeping closer for us, too. I truly hope the coming year will be no worse than the one we leave behind. I know there will be trials and troubles, but I can hope they will be easier to overcome. Even if I am peering at them over a mountain of unfinishing quilts...

  3. Your cabinet is beautiful, and I'm sure every quilt in it is too! At least your UFO's are where you will be reminded daily. I'm not really looking forward to 2021 being much better than 2020 has been, but I hope I'm wrong! I just hope it will not be worse! I am truly praying that it will be better---for all of us! ---"Love"

  5. Finishing is my 'goal' this year as well! What a nice stack of tops. It will be fun to see them as they get their turn. May 2021 be a Healthy and Happy one for you.
