In a Scrap

I thought I'd show you my scrap box. Yep, that's a shoe box and these are my scraps.

Not really trying very hard now am I?

My bloggy friend Gail was telling me about her scraps - 9 boxes all up and I'm guessing they aren't the kind that hold a pair of shoes.

Why am I showing you my scrap box.....well, I'm making scrap blocks for a swap and these blocks are for Lisa and Katie the winners of our first drawer.

One of each pair, girls posted to you soon. I hope you like them.

Now before I forget (again), I wanted to thank Ariane. I have been most fortunate to be the winner of her recent giveaway. It's a mystery gift - she's making something just for me. Thank you Ariane, I am delighted to have won and you make such wonderful projects. You can see Ariane's beautiful work on her blog - Ariane's Crafts.

While we are on the subject of giveaways.....my 100th post is not far away and I'll be hosting my own giveaway. Extra entries will be awarded to regular commentators and followers.

Stay tuned for details......

Ann

  1. Ann,
I have more scraps in my vacuum cleaner than you have in your scrap box :)

  3. Ann, your blocks look great.
That is a sad little box of scraps, would you like me to send you some? I seem to generate a lot of scraps. I think that you just plan better than I do.

  4. Ann,
Your blocks are beautiful, I love the fabrics you have used. I'm really enjoying this and I'm not even receiving anything yet!

I have half a dresser drawer full of little scraps and lots more leftover from projects. I save anything I think I can use someday! We'll see if I ever use the little scraps or not.

  7. Ann, as expected, your blocks are lovely! I'm sure Lisa and Katie will be thrilled to receive them!
I must say my scrap box(es) have considerably more scrap I need to use!
I laughed out loud when I read Ann Hermes' comment. I can certainly relate! I bought a new vacuum yesterday, with that clear plastic trash thingy. I almost went into shock last night when I saw how much thread and clippings it picked up, some almost big enough to salvage and make a scrap quilt! ---"Love"

  9. I like the blocks, you do such nice work. In my defense some of my "scraps" are more like yardage!

  10. That IS a pathetic scrap box, but I'm wondering how you manage to have so few? I've not had any trouble making my blocks from scraps - in fact, very rarely did I use a fabric in more than one set of blocks (other than the background)! But these are goergous and I can't wait!

  11. Oh my goodness that's all your scraps!?! That's crazy! I have a bin for each color/like colors and then one for flannels (I think I have 8 or so bins). The blocks look fabulous- I can't wait for my turn. I'll be ready to comment like crazy for the big 100! :) Christine

  14. Thank you for all your wonderful comments. I probably should admit at this point that I have an embarrasing collection of fat quarters that I can draw from but I do like to use up every wee scrap if I can. Ann :-)

  15. Well, Ann, I truly think when it's time to ship swap blocks to you, we should all share a few pieces from our scrap drawers, boxes, and bags! Do you have a qualifying size or what? THAT box looks like you started quilting last week and we all know better... Your blocks are great and love all the colors we're spreading around. Congrats on winning Ariane's gift, whatever it may be. Love the Sunday Best quilt and the potholders are really cute. You'll have to let us see what you win! Mary
