There's Nothing New Under the Sun

I have my partner for the Pincushion Pass and I really want to make something nice for her.

After mooching about Flickr I have discovered that if you can think of it - someone has made it into a pincushion. If you doubt my claim then just type Pincushion into the search button - there are 6897 images of them.

Go on, I dare you to look through them all! I wimped out after page 180.

Perhaps I should wait until the Sydney Quilt Show in a couple of weeks in case I see kit or pattern.

  1. Ann, I love pincushions, I will have to look at least some of the ones on flickr. I never think to go there for inspiration, but I will try it now.

  2. I have the same dilemma. I need to make a pincushion for an exchange in July and I'm looking for a really cute (and easy) one! Is that possible? Good luck with your search. I'm hoping to hit a couple quilt shops in Idaho today! It is a lot cooler here too!!

Apparently, Indygo Junction has a pattern for this too but this tutorial is really easy. I just made one and have made a few!

  6. The pin cushion reminds me of the Texas Star pot holders everyone was making back in the 70's.
