If you haven't backed up your files lately or updated virus definitions then I recommend that you do.
I'd been talking about buying an external hard drive but hadn't got around to it. Then it happened - a catastrophic failure of the pc hardware. Luckily, I managed to retrieve all my files - this time.
I may not be so lucky next time. So I have a new pc, modem, virus protection and external hard drive.
Lesson learned.
Now I have some catching up to do. I imagine there has been a lot going on while I have been out of action.
I'm off to the Sydney Quilt Show this weekend but won't have much in the way of spending money after having to buy the new pc.
Probably a good thing really.....

ReplyDeleteoh no about alll he co[uter problems!! I was going todrive my pc home and have my dad see if he could fix it, but I am flying back home now...I guess when the little H-nut is baptised he'll have to come out here!

ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your computer, I am really glad you were able to recover your important files. I do back mine up to a thumb drive occasionally but may do it more often now.

ReplyDeleteLucky you; saving your files, and a new computer too! I should get an external hard drive too, but haven't yet. After AC repair, computer repair, and two large quilting jobs, that will have to wait for now.

Thanks for the reminder! I do have an external drive, but should get the latest pictures copied to it. Right now I'm trying to figure out whether the mouse is going bad or some computer malfunction. Seems I have to click on mail several times to delete...

Oh... there is a long time sins I copied my files to my exsternal hard disk. Thank you, Ann! By the way, usual I copy my files to two external disk's - if my pc dont work, and one hard disk also is down - then I have one more safe disk :o))
