milked

Ta-da! Here is it is - at long last.
(did I milk this one for all it's worth)

Used some of the leftover fabrics for the backing.
Seemed a shame not to use them.

Seriously, how cute are those owls?!

I love the effect of the quilting on this one.
Machine quilted on a Janome QC6260 using Stitch No. 10, Width 4.0, Length 3.5,  auto tension and Gutermann Cotton Quilting thread.
Just need to add the label and it's ready for gifting.

Fabrics used: Adorn It - Nested Owls

  1. Ann, it turned out great! Those fabrics are adorable, I especially like the owls and the fabric with leaves on it. The quilting really looks wonderful, too. You made a really cute quilt! Someone is going to love it to pieces!

  3. So cute! Good job on that quilting! You're much braver than I, it's all I can do to stitch in the ditch with an occasional straight line down the middle!

    1. Well, Gail if you can stitch a straight line then you can do this. Once I got the stitch length and width right it was straight stitching all the way.

  4. Love your quilting! I don't think I could ever stitch that much as straight as you did, but I really like it. The owls are really cute too. ---"Love"

    1. Don't look too closely Love - not all straight and not all even width but it certainly made for an interesting quilt.

  6. The fabrics you chose to go with the owls is perfect! I love the quilting too. I have a different Janome and it doesn't have that stitch. Too bad. Great idea to use it for the quilting! I like it that you at least post something on your blog instead of not posting anything for a really long time. We don't mind if you "milk" it! ;-)

    1. Thanks Ruth. Your Janome might have a similar stitch - it's a dashed zig-zag. I just played around with the width/length. It is good to be posting more regularly. Last year was a tough one for lots of reasons.

  7. It turned out so cute! What else could it be with those owls? The pieced back is perfect, even better than the fabric you didn't have enough of :) The quilting you chose works on the back as well. Ta da! Reversible!

  8. Thanks Joanne! I ended up using small tabs rather than a full hanging sleeve so that it can be reversible. I'm very happy with the result.
