My blog posts are pretty boring these days I’m afraid. I’m working on my RSC2017 quilt at the moment.
I’m using my Westalee quilting rulers on this one pretty much as a practice piece. Getting used to handling the quilt and the ruler. Trying to think of designs.
So far I’m really pleased with the results. My quilting is not perfect by any means but the rulers do make it possible to work on a large quilt and I am aiming for finish here - not a show quilt.
In other good news, the wool/poly batting has arrived. Purchased from a young farming family in Victoria Hollyburton Organic Farm.
They also make wool doonas. I’m fascinated to know what you call a doona. I think they call it a duvet in the UK.
Lockdown has been extended for another two weeks although I am required to go into work, so far. At least I have plenty of quilting to keep me occupied on the weekends.
Happy stitching!
Beautiful quilt! The doonas look like a down comforter here in the USA. Hopefully the lockdown ends soon. Stay safe.
ReplyDeleteNo, your blog posts are never boring! That quilt is very interesting, and I love its border. Your quilting looks great! Good to see you're using your rulers. I have them too --- stored away in the closet! I did use two of them last week on a little quilt, but haven't used them much in long time. Let's face it, I haven't had anything ready to quilt in a long time! Loved seeing yours! ---"Love"
ReplyDeleteIt's a lovely quilt! Just to finish something is so satisfying!
ReplyDeleteYour quilting looks good from here, but I know we're each our own worst critics. Sorry to hear you're on lockdown, but have to continue going to work. I know that story well, but I think having the distraction of somewhere to go was a good thing. And I'm not convinced it isn't coming back to us this fall as indoor activities increase. Time will tell, but definitely good we have a hobby that can be done solo!
ReplyDeleteThe quilt is so lovely! Very cozy looking.
ReplyDeleteI must get me some Westaleee quilting rulers. It seems they are the rage. Your quilt is lovely. Sydney is worrisome at the moment. It is a shame that you cannot work from home. Take care and enjoy lots of stitching over the next little while.
