reconstruction

I'd like to blame a squirrel but  . . . .

Didn't mean to be away from the blog or quilting for quite this long but other activities distracted me. Now it's July. Good grief!

Thank you for your kind messages and please be reassured that I have not been affected by the floods that you may have seen on the internet/news.

Those poor folks have been hit with three floods this year and it's still raining.

Work has recommenced on this quilt.

So there was some funky math when I cut one of the borders on this quilt and I ended up with this mess.

Why I didn't fix it at the time - who knows, but it had to be unpicked and remeasured. That light blue border was 3 and a half inches longer that it should have been!

No design for the three borders yet but let's just stitich in the ditch for now and when inspiration strikes, I'll go back and quilt it with a design.

Now I have some catching up on your blogs to see what you've been up to.

  1. Welcome back! Life does have a way of happening and pulling us away from things. Not to worry, real life is more important than blog life. I've been there with quilts like that. I know I've set them aside because I was so exasperated, I didn't even want to think about the error any longer. Good for you tackling it now, even if it was inconvenient. I try to do things so my future self will be pleased, but some days just don't go that way. I hope you'll share progress again soon!

  2. This mathophobe is happy to see you pop up in her blog list! I am glad you are back. Hope you can work out the quilt. Borders can sometimes be tricky.

  3. Don't worry about the absence, other things come first so we are just happy to hear from you! I wasn't a fan of math in school but sometimes I wish I had paid better attention when it comes to quilting. Who knew I would really want to know some math skills! Glad you are taking the time to fix it, that is such a pretty quilt. I have loved every photo you have shown of your progress. It is good to hear from you again!
