Diamonds Are Forever
Well, these will last a while to be sure. This is my *in-between* project while the winter keeps me out of the sewing room.
(Couldn't be anything to do with the fact it's a mess in there)
I've had the idea for this quilt for a little while now but was spurred on when I read Pam Bunda's article about make-do quilts in the April issue of American Patchwork & Quilting.
How funky is that cover quilt?! May have to put that on the to-do list as well.
I'll be adding a soft white to the mix when I find the right one. Hmm, I feel a shop hop coming on.....
Happy Stitching!
Ann

Diamonds are very eye appealing and the funky quilt is another gee whiz wish I had enough time and energy quilt.
ReplyDeleteYour diamonds are gorgeous! So is Pam Bunda's blog! So glad you shared both. Can't wait to see the diamond "setting"! ---"Love"
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of "make do and mend", these type of quilts seem to have so much more character. I look forward to watching your progress. :-)
ReplyDeleteThe Diamonds are beautiful! Great job! Love the idea of "making do" - isn't that how quilting all started? Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing better than stars IMHO :0) I'm not much of a stash buster so I'm not so sure I'll ever make a "make do" quilt...besides shopping is much more fun LOL.

ReplyDeleteWhat fun projects! But winter? Yeah, I guess you're far enough south for that...it's steaming hot up here! I look forward to seeing how both quilts come together.
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely combination of diamonds. Is this your hand-sewn set-in seam project?

ReplyDeleteI am new to blogging but loving the way the groups all share their ideas and beautiful work.
So hear you about the sewing room. I have taken over the dining room and not sure if I am coping with the mess moving into the main part of the house but........ one needs to sew.
Be looking forward to the warmer weather.
