garden tuesday...lemon tree

a lisbon

lots of spiny thorns - sure has

thin skin and thick pith - yep

flowers and fruits at the same time - pretty neat that

fruits twice a year - true, a good crop too

grows to a height of 8m - sure does

rumour has it that it was brought to australia by a portugese immigrant

 probably just an internet furphy

makes nice lemonade, lemon curd and lemon meringue pie

  5. Lovely lemons! It really does have a thick skin. I'm wanting citrus trees but first I have to find a place to put them inside for the winter!

  7. Not only can you make tasty treats with them, but the foliage is beautiful! I've never seen one, and here in North Texas, I'm sure I never will! ---"Love"
