I needed to take a break.
Too much to juggle. Family, work, health, home. The usual things. Oh, and the house needed re-wiring.
A recent trip to the Blue Mountains with a stop at Post Office Patchwork at Glenbrook has reignited my sewing spark.
Fell heavily for some Tilda fabric (Lizzie the quilter knew it would happen) - Cabbage Rose and Memory Lane.
Thought it would make this pretty clamshell cushion designed by Red Brolly.

There's even a free pattern. It's rather a clever way to make the clamshells too.

That's great news! I've really been missing you! This morning I thought about you as I watched a TV program about kangaroos. (Sorry; that doesn't sound quite right, does it?) "giggle" Really, I'll be glad to see a quilt post from you soon! ---"Love"
ReplyDeleteNow That looks like a good hiatus Ann.....a lovely day out!
ReplyDeleteHello Ann
ReplyDeleteOh so glad you are back, I have missed reading your blog. Isn't that tilde fabric beautiful, I really want some but can't find it in the shops here, I'll have to do some on line research. Your pillow is so beautiful, I'd like to try clamshells, I love the effect they give.
Have a wonderful week, xxx
Breaks can be very healthy things. It's nice to hear from you again though! Enjoy your new fabric. I'm going to go look up that clamshell pattern now :)
ReplyDeleteNice to see you back in blog ville!
ReplyDeleteClamshells have always intrigued me, but I haven't tried tackling them yet. The fabrics look lovely! Good luck and I can't wait to see what you do.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back! So happy to see you on here again, but fully understand the hiatus. Hope all is well with you. Enjoy making the clamshell pillow.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back!!!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back! I hope! (I'm not any better with this haitus ending when I plan for it to end thing either...life is happening here, too...) I love the fabrics and hope you find room in your sewing room to create soon. Never mind having a CLEAN room, just enough space to work is fine by me. I won't tell!
ReplyDeleteI love the Post Office Patchwork shop at Glenbrook. I visited there often when I lived in Sydney. Love your pretty fabrics and the clam shell cushion is lovely. 'Tis wonderful to visit you once again after such a long time, Ann.
