I find hand sewing rather therapeutic - almost meditative. Now that all the blocks are quilted it's time to start stitching them together.
There are a couple of different methods for putting together the no-sashing method of Quilt-As-You-Go and I am using a combination.
Machine stitching the fronts and hand stitching the back. Good thing it's been a wet, wintry weekend to keep me indoors with needle and thread.

Hand-sewing something that large would scare me! Lots of opportunities to shift and become wonky. But I'm sure you have it well in hand and maybe one day I'll attempt a quilt as you go and find it not as daunting as my brain thinks! I'm excited for the finish!
ReplyDeleteI found I actually enjoyed hand stitching the back parts of the QAYG. I can't wait to see your quilt.
ReplyDeleteHand sewing is nice for watching the telly-or rather listening to it! Have fun.
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty fabrics and your stitching looks great! Wish my hands could try hand-quilting. ---"Love"
ReplyDeleteI love the fabric! I used to hand quilt, but can't really do much hand work any more. I do hand stitch bindings to the back and do some embroidery, but that's all I can handle.
