disclaimer

As I work on this quilt, there are a couple of places where the points don't meet.

(ouch! yes, alright...)

Okay there's quite a few places where the points don't meet. This is due to a rather complicated situation caused by the rotation of the earth and the fact that I'm in the southern hemisphere...

(owww! okay...alright...sheesh!)

It may have something to do with my cutting skills (I blame the astigmatism) and those pesky bias seams. Needless to say, I will be using whatever trickery is at my disposal to hide them from you for the time being (photoshop is my friend).

I realise that eventually, my fraud will be revealed for all to see but for now I'm prepared to delay this as long as possible.

  1. Ah yes, I'm familiar with the frustration of mismatched points, but I blame it on being in the northern hemisphere :) Don't worry, I'm not policing anyone else's points! What you're showing looks perfect!

  3. When the fabric is this pretty it doesn't matter.

  4. Points, schmoints! Not all of my points match up either! But you know what? No once really cares 'cause the quilts all look so pretty anyway! This one is going to be a real stunner!

  5. Been there, done that. Rather recently! But I've gotten a little more lax with myself and the pointiness of points. While I do try, I don't beat myself up over it. Look at those quilts we all drool over from 100+ years ago. How many are perfect? NONE. So you go ahead with your photoshop fun, but know that a quilt with matching points won't keep you any warmer than a quilt with wonky points. :)

  7. I really love your explanations for why your points are misbehaving. Too funny! I'm anxious to see how it ends up. I'm loving your fabrics.

Hope you have a very happy New Year!

  8. This quilt will be fabulous! Everything you do is great, so if one or two points don't match up, who cares? Besides there are a million seams and points coming together in this one, I think, it'll all be beautiful!

  9. Wow, looks good to me! I think the beautiful fabrics will far overshadow a few mismatched points and they won't be noticed! And, anyone who examines your quilt for perfection doesn't know the reason for making a quilt in the first place. Enjoy the fabrics, enjoy the process and enjoy your quilt!

  10. Awww... you guys are the best! It's true, it's not the end of the world if the points don't match. Thanks for the encouragement and support.

  11. No quilt police here! Why is it that when you do everything right, it doesn't come out perfect? I don't have much patience with ripping out every block, so, yes, there are many cut off points in my quilts. But, who cares?

  12. I read in a book once that if you don't cut off half of your points you are just showing off. LOL. I love that!
I am sure it will be awesome when you get it together.
